12. 1. 2019 – Samo Škrabar osvojil zlato državno priznanje iz tekmovanja Bober

Po šolskem tekmovanju, ki se ga je udeležilo več kot 33000 osnovnošolcev in srednješolcev iz cele Slovenije, je to soboto, 12. 1. 2019, potekalo državno tekmovanje Bober, na katerega so se uvrstili le najboljši. Tekmovanje je bilo v Mariboru na Fakulteti za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko. Samo Škrabar iz 8. razreda se je odlično odrezal in osvojil zlato državno priznanje.

4. 1. 2019 – Spoznavanje daljne Laponske, narave, hrane, tipov družin, preizkušanje lastnega poguma … na kulturnem dnevu šestošolcev

V četrtek, 4. 1. 19, smo si šestošolci ogledali zanimiv film Deček z oblakov. Niilas je 12-letni deček, živi pri svojem očetu  v Belgiji, mama ju je zapustila, ko je imel Niilas komaj eno leto in se je odselila na Švedsko. Mama Niilasa povabi na Švedsko, čeprav nerad, odpotuje sam z vlakom k njej. Mama si je na Švedskem ustvarila novo družino, za Niilasa je vse novo in tuje.

In kam bi se odpravili naši šestošolci, če bi lahko šli sami raziskovat svet? Preberite si spodnjo avanturo …

Moja avantura …

Šla bi v New York, v središče mesta. Spoznavala bi nove ljudi, se sprehajala po mestu, obiskala njegove znamenitosti … Tja bi odpotovala v sklopu »srednješolske izmenjave«. Najprej bi šla v Central Park, kjer imajo v jezeru ladjice na daljinsko upravljanje. S prijateljico bi se sprehajala okoli jezera. Potem bi si šla pogledat kakšen zabaviščni park. V hotelu bi si vsako jutro naročila zajtrk, ki ti ga prinesejo v sobo. Po šoli bi s prijateljico odšli vadit v plesni studio, da bi kasneje posneli plesni video. Z ladjico bi se vozila po obrobju reke Huston. Šla bi na Times Square. Vsako jutro bi iz hotela gledala Kip svobode. Verjetno bi šli s prijateljico še v kakšen disko-klub. Čez kakšna dva tedna bi odpotovala še na izmenjavo v Rusijo, kjer bi v prostem času hodila na gimnastiko. Šla bi v znamenito cerkev v Moskvi.

Poleti bi odpotovala v Dubaj, slikala bi trenutno najvišjo zgradbo na svetu. Obiskala bi vse plaže, ker so zelo lepe in je toplo morje

3. 1. 2019 – Ogled predstave Pygmalion v angleškem jeziku

V sredo, 19. 12. 2018, so si učenci 8. in 9. razreda ogledali gledališko predstavo Pygmalion v izvedbi ADGE Europe. Predstava je nastala po literarni predlogi slovitega britanskega pisatelja in dramatika Georga Bernarda Shawa. Predstava je bila večini učencev všeč, nekateri pa so svoje vtise ubesedili v angleškem jeziku.

Pygmalion is a historical play that follows the main character Eliza. She starts off as a common flower girl with a poor English accent, that is, until she meets Professor Higgins and Colonel Pickering. The two scientists then teach Eliza how to speak »proper English«. The scientists succeed in their experiment, but during that time they also take away the girl’s independence. The play ends with Eliza realising her self-worth and regaining her independence. Overall, the play was quite good. The only thing I didn’t like was the annoying screaming of the main character and the immature audience from some schools.

I loved the play. In the beginning some students clapped at everything the manager of the group said in his introduction, and that was the only thing I didn’t like. I liked the way some actors talked. It was very interesting, because it was different than normal English. I think this play was even better than the one we went to see last year. I’d like to see more plays like this one.

I must say that I really enjoyed the play. It was very interesting. It’s a pity that it did not last longer. The play has a very deep meaning – you have to love and respect yourself no matter what. I would recommend this play to all schools because of its historical theme and setting. My favourite thing about Pygmalion is the way Eliza managed to stand up to Professor Higgins.

I really liked the play. It was a pity, however, that some people in the audience weren’t mature enough to be in a theatre. At the beginning they clapped at every single sentence of the manager during his introduction, thus delaying the start of the play itself. Overall, the play was interesting and I enjoyed watching it, despite the unfortunate event at the beginning. I’d love to go to other plays as well.

At quarter to nine on Wednesday we went to the theatre (KD Krško). The whole performance was very interesting. It lasted for almost two hours. I really enjoyed watching the actors and actresses. My favourite character was the drunk dad who “sold” his daughter to Professor Higgins for five pounds. I couldn’t understand what Eliza was saying sometimes, because she spoke in the Cockney dialect. I think the play we watched last year was better than this one.

On Wednesday, 19 December, we went to KD Krško to see Pygmalion, an English play performed by the American Drama Group. The story is about a common flower girl Eliza, who is once seen by Professor Higgins selling flowers in front of a theatre. After a bet with Colonel Pickering he decides to teach her how to speak “proper English”. I liked the play, because it was very funny at moments. I also liked the fact that Eliza became independent at the end and left Professor Higgins. I didn’t like the way she was treated by Professor Higgins – like and experimental object. But it was really interesting to see a performance in a different language and I enjoyed the experience.

On Wednesday before the Christmas holidays our English class went to see the play called Pygmalion. I really liked it because it presented different English dialects. It also showed different social classes and how they spoke. It was very interesting to see how lower social classes interacted with higher social classes and how they were dressed.

3. 1. 2019 – Praznični december v 1. č

V 1. č razredu je bil mesec december nekaj zares posebnega, saj smo z odpiranjem adventnega koledarja pričarali posebno pričakovanje pred božičem in čas namenili pogovorom o pomenu družine, prijateljstva in razveseljevanju ljudi okoli nas. Vsako jutro smo ob odpiranju adventnega koledarja namenili čas tudi poslušanju božičnih pravljic. Tokrat je bilo malo drugačno, saj so nam jih namesto učiteljic brali kar učenci 5. č razreda. Na zadnji šolski dan pred božično-novoletnimi počitnicami pa smo se z učenci 5. č razreda še pobližje spoznali, saj so nas povabili na zabavno druženje. Pripravili so nam zanimivo matematično igro Kralj, kjer smo se zares zabavali in jim obenem  pokazali, kako dobro že znamo računati do 5. Ob koncu druženja smo se skupaj še posladkali in drug drugega v zahvalo razveselili z majhno pozornostjo. Zelo smo bili veseli, da smo lahko stkali nova prijateljstva in smo jim hvaležni za ves njihov trud in čas, ki so nam ga namenili v mesecu decembru. Naučili pa smo se, da je pomembno, da naš dragoceni čas večkrat namenimo našim najbližjim in dobro voljo delimo med prijatelje.

V času pred božičnimi prazniki smo naše dopisne prijatelje  iz Přeštic na Češkem presenetili z zanimivo čestitko – sestavljenko, ki je prispela ravno ob pravem času. Naši prijatelji so se je zelo razveselili.

Thank you very much for your wonderful Christmas puzzle! It is so nice idea, we unpacked it today with our participants and had lot of fun with it! It wasn’t easy to coordinate all the kids with the letters on their decorations, but we finally managed! We put the puzzle into our English class and tomorrow all the decorations are going home together with their owners 🙂 I enclose some pictures for you. We really appreciate your special Christmas project, thank you very much for it once more! We wish you wonderful Christmas time and all the best to the New Year 2019.
